CMU Physics Scholarships:
George N. and Ernestine R. Lauer Scholarship
for undergraduate (Junior year) students Established in 1988 by George and Ernestine Lauer in appreciation of CMU and their family. The recipient must be a junior with a 3.0 or higher GPA, majoring in Mathematics, Computer Science, Speech-Language Pathology, or English. Preference is given to Michigan residents. If a recipient is not identified within these majors, qualified applicants majoring in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics will be considered. The scholarship may be renewed for the senior year provided a 3.0 or better GPA has been maintained and the field of study is continued. Change the last sentence to Applications are available through the Financial Aid office. The CDO department does not make the selection for this scholarship. Students wishing to apply for this scholarship must request the application from the Financial Aid office.
Kenneth Wright Physics Scholarship
Established in 1998 by the sons of Kenneth Wright, ‘34, a CMU physics teacher for over 30 years, for a third-year student with a declared major in physics, a minimum 3.5 GPA in classes offered by the physics department, and a minimum 2.5 GPA overall.
Kenneth W. and Margaret Cuff Sanders Scholarship
Established in 1989 by family and friends for a junior, senior or graduate student with a 3.5 or higher GPA. Preference is given to English, journalism or physics majors; the scholarship is renewable provided the 3.5 or higher GPA is maintained.
